Demonstrative Pronoun v/s Demonstrative Adjective

देखने मेंं ये दोनों समान हैं लेकिन  वाक्य मेंं उनके कार्य भिन्न हैं।
Demostrative Pronoun वाक्य मेंं किसी noun की तरफ संकेत करता है। उदाहरण- this, that, these, those.
1. This is my pen. (इस वाक्य में "this' एक demonstrative (डिमोन्सट्रेटिव) pronoun है। यह pen की तरफ संकेत करता है।
2. These are my books. ( इस वाक्य में these' एक demonstrative pronoun है।) यह पुस्तकों की तरफ संकेत करता है)

इसी प्रकार
 That is a girl .
Those are girls .

ध्यान रखें नजदीक की किसी एकवचन संज्ञा के लिए- this
                                       बहुवचन संज्ञा के लिए- these
         दूर की एकवचन संज्ञा के लिए -     that
          "" """बहुवचन """"""""""" - those
का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Demonstrative Adjective ( संकेतवाचक विशेषण)
जो विशेषण अपने तुरन्त बाद प्रयुक्त संज्ञा की तरफ संकेत करता है, उसे Demonstrative Adjective कहते हैं।
उदाहरण- this, that, these, those.

1. This girl is intelligent. ( यहां "this" अपने तुरंत बाद आने वाली संज्ञा 'girl'की तरफ संकेत करता है। अतः in this sentence 'this' एक Demonstrative Adjective है।

परन्तु
 This is an intelligent girl. इस वाक्य मेंं' this ' एक demonstrative pronoun है।

इसी प्रकार से निम्नलिखित वाक्यों को देखिये-
  1 That boy is very sincere.( Demonstrative Adjective)
That is a very sincere boy. (Demonstrative Pronoun)

अब आपको समझ आ गया होगा।

अभ्यास 1.
निम्नलिखित वाक्यों में से demonstrative pronouns/ demonstrative adjective छांटो व अपनी कापी में लिखो।
1. This is my shirt.
2 I bought this shirt from market.
3. Those bananas are very nice.
4 Those are nice bananas.
5 My father gave me this watch on my birthday.
6. This is a watch my father gave me on my birthday.
7. These boys are very regular.
8. These are very regular boys.
9 . That is a bench .
10  You may sit on that bench.
